Carving Vice

A well designed and versatile wood carving vice. Easily positionable, sturdy and at a very reasonable price. I would thoroughly recommend it.

I'm very pleased with my carving vise, it is very sturdy and well put together. Being able to clamp it to a work surface means I can use it in my shed or outside fastened to my workmate. I find it much easier to move the piece I'm working on a good purchase. I would recommend it to any carver.

Being new to carving I was unsure how useful a carvers vice would be. An experienced carver encouraged me to get one but admitted that at nearly £100 his was a bit of an investment.What a game changer. Being able to adjust the work piece to any angle makes life so much easier and allows for quicker and better results.If you are thinking of carving or have tried it and been frustrated then get one of these, it is as essential as a good chisel.P.S. the experienced carving friend likes the ability to move the vice around far more than his bolted to the bench version.

What i like about this vice is the two pegs that lock against the main frame to prevent the circular base from rotating when you are initially roughing out your carving. My old vice did not have this facility and when ever you exerted pressure the carving would slip and you would have to reposition. Excellent design and great in use.
