Countersink Bits - Set of 3

This set of 3 countersink drill bits provide effortless drilling, countersinking and counterboring in a wide range of hard, soft and composite woods. Ideal for furniture or frame assembly, these bits produce clean, consistent clearance holes and countersunk or counterbored recesses, allowing fixings to sit flush with the surface or be hidden completely with plugs.

The tungsten carbide tipped countersink cleanly slices the material, leaving a clean, smooth finish even on abrasive materials such as laminated chipboard. The M2 high speed steel clearance drill bits are fully ground, ensuring dimensional accuracy and a long tool life. Suitable screw sizes are M5 for the 3 and 4mm bits and M6 for the 5mm bit.

The user-friendly design enables full adjustment of the clearance bit length and countersink depth without the need for disassembly. A laser-etched metric scale allows quick, accurate setting of the countersink depth. A deeper bore is used when inserting plugs, or you can set the depth of the recess to leave your screw flush with the surface. The 3 & 4mm bits produce a major hole diameter of 9.5mm, for use with 9.5mm plugs. The 5mm bit produces a major hole diameter of 12.7mm, for use with 12.7mm plugs.

The heavy-duty aluminium depth stop collar features a low friction roller bearing, allowing to it stop rotating when in contact with the workpiece, eliminating friction marks on finished work surfaces. Three large openings around the circumference of the collar ensure maximum chip ejection to prevent clogging. Suitable for use in pillar drills or electric hand drills, these bits feature 1/4" quick change hex shanks, ensuring a secure, non-slip hold within the drill chuck.
