This set of 2 spherical and cylindrical rotary carving rasps will transform your angle grinder into a power carving machine, delivering quick and easy freehand shaping, hollowing out or decorative texturing of soft and hard woods. The spherical ball rasp has a diameter of 30mm and is designed for carving smooth hollows and concave features, ideal for spoons, bowls and multi-directional freeform sculpting. The cylindrical rasp has a diameter of 30mm with a 40mm working length and is designed for fast surface material removal, creating grooves, enlarging holes and rounding edges.

Each rasp is engineered from carbon steel, quenched and tempered to HRC45-55. This extensive hardening process ensures durability and long lasting sharpness, with the rows of machine stitched teeth working quickly to provide rapid stock removal. The open, less concentrated tooth pattern prevents the rasps from loading with swarf, to maintain optimum control during use and provide a finer surface finish. With M14 threads, each rasp will screw directly onto the spindles of standard 115mm and 125mm angle grinders. Maximum recommended operating speed is 12,000rpm. ©

More than it says on the tin

Game Changers!!!
I did not get these primevally for carving, rather rapid removal of wood in hard to reach places and boy do they do the job. Need to get into that tight corner under the eaves to run pipework or cables? These did the job with ease.
Paintbrush with square edges on the handles? 5 minutes and it was shaped to the perfect fit for my hands.
Once the house renovation is finished I am going to have a proper try at rotary carving.
P.S. they seem to work on hardwoods as well if not better than softwoods.

These are absolutely superb. For angle grinder carving you can't go wrong. Rutland were spot on really quick delivery.

Gently Does It.

These Rasps are quite good after you have mastered them, it's taken me quite a while to do this as I have arthritis in my hands and wrists. I have found that gently does it, just a little bit at a time. I have a big bag of wood shavings if anyone is interested. These two are definite keepers.
