FULL DESCRIPTION
This wall mounted panel clamp set frees up valuable workshop floor and bench space when clamping large panels, doors or frames. Panels can be clamped up to 1100mm wide by 120mm in depth, the length of which is only limited by the length of wall space available. The set comprises of a 1000mm rail that is fastened to the wall and two 1200mm metre clamps that sit in and slide along the rail. Individual boards are loaded one at a time into the clamps, which can be carefully positioned prior to clamping.

When fully loaded the handwheel is tightened, applying both vertical and lateral pressure to the boards, forcing the two sides of the clamp together, resulting in four directional clamping. This ensures that all components of the panel are kept aligned during gluing and gives the best possible fit eliminating any risk of gaps or bending in the panel caused by uneven clamping pressures. By keeping everything straight and in line, the panel will require only a minimum amount of finishing saving plenty of time.

Both the rails and clamps are manufactured from anodised aluminium which has been hardened to prevent the clamps from twisting or buckling under heavy load. For very long or very heavy panels you simply add additional sets to the length of the wall. These clamps save an enormous amount of space in the workshop leaving floors and benches free for other work. ©

These clamps are excellent for flat glue ups. I had two and just bought a third for wider panels. Considering getting two more as they hold glued panels flat and the final joints are much stronger with very little finishing needed. They've been a great addition to my workshop as they keep my workbench clear too.

This is a great concept if you have limited workshop space and need to join large boards. Being mounted on the wall, as well as saving space, I've also found compared to traditional sash clamps this system keeps the panels incredibly flat while gluing up. And another bonus by clamping boards vertically the glue doesn't run off the join!

Having used these several times now I can say that these are fantastic when used correctly and also much quicker then conventional clamps in my opinion with regards to both set up and also pack down. Worth taking some time to set up correctly and also number the holes. Along with numbering the holes I also made a small reference table that I keep near by to enable me to select the correct hole for the panel width being clamped. All in all an excellent product, so similar to the other brand I think they may well be from the same manufacturer, purchased 2 sets for ability to clamp up to 2m in length.

I recently had to make a 4 metre wide free standing wardrobe out of 20mm thick tulip wood using 250mm wide boards to create the back panel. I normally would use T bar cramps but I need to ensure the panels were flat. I purchased two rail and five clamps. You just place your first board in position, lock it off, glue up and add the next board, then repeat. Once glued up and position I tapped down with a mallet and then tightened the locking levers which pulled the boards together and kept them flat. A few turns and you could see the glue coming out. The end result was excellent. Flat , well clamped panels. This is a simple yet very effective way of clamping up panels.

Good but fiddly and a 3rd vertical bclamp would be better

Instructions are poor but managed to get it setup. It's very fiddly to adjust but there is probably a knack, which I haven't got yet.
Only used it on a small job and the results were very good.

You only get two vertical clamps and for larger jobs I feel you need one in the middle. I asked Rutlands if they sold these seperately and they do not, so you would have to buy another complete set, full price is £220.00.
When I have a larger job I will add addtional clamps but these will not give the flat alignment.
I have dropped a star for the poor documentation and the fiddly nature of the setup.
Also dropped another, as only two vertical bars (picture in advert shows two but in the instructions shows three) and you cannot buy these seperately.
