18V x 4.0Ah Battery for Sliding Mitre Saw and Biscuit Jointer

This is a great little mitre saw and not overly heavy either, unlike many other mitres saw it cuts up to about 70mm which we liked.

Negatives: we have a couple points, the battery could be more powerful the 4ah is ok but given most competitors are almost double this much power it certainly needs improving. It does make the saw feel like it’s slightly under power. Batteries not being compatible with other devices. I’m sure there’s a logical reason for this but for cordless kit something that needs to change.

Set up, the saw won’t be 90 or 45 degrees out the box like say a festool. It’s not a big deal it tweek it, it’s just a few grub screws and it’s sorted. It took about 5 mins to sort.

Over all it’s a great, light machine and we’re pretty happy with it. The cut length and depth is brilliant and for the price point very good. It doesn’t feel cheap. For a quick out of the box mitre saw you won’t be disappointed. We purchased an extra battery too. Delivery was great, came bang on time as promised by Rutlands. We will definitely be repeat customers.
