Getting the perfect finish on a curve or contour isn't always easy. Use a flat bed sander and you won't get a smooth shape. Finish by hand and it can often be long laborious work. This bobbin sander is designed to work with the curve or contour giving a flawless finish regardless of radii. This bobbin sander comes with five different diameters of bobbin and combined with the main drive spindle, offers six different sanding diameters of 13mm, 19mm, 26mm, 38mm, 51mm and 76mm. This range of diameters allows the sander to work on anything from a tight curve through to a gentle contour.

The sander is supplied with six corresponding table inserts to eliminate gaps in the table, to ensure that the work piece is fully supported close to the edge of the bobbin. Measuring 370 x 290mm, the cast iron table offers ample work piece support and with a bobbin working height of 115mm, this sander has the capability to handle all sizes of work. We have had this bobbin sander specified with a high torque, 450W induction to ensure consistent speeds even when working under load. This motor drives the bobbins at 2000rpm with 58 oscillations per minute, leaving a super-fine finish whilst ensuring scorching is kept to a minimum. The 38mm diameter dust extraction port gives you efficient waste removal at source for a better finish, when connected to an extractor.

Measuring 330mm from base to table top, this bobbin sander is perfectly sized for bench mounting. The base is designed with various slots to store the supplied accessories, so the correct bobbin and table insert are always at hand. Bobbin Sander

Just took delivery today. What can I say, usual Rutlands high standards, very well made, great price, I have been toying with getting one of these for a while now and did buy it on one of their 12 hour specials. Not noisy at all. Very solid, would recommend.

Good solid piece of kit!

This is a solid item and does the job really well. Very good value for the money!

Good value tool

First of this type of sander I’ve bought and the dust extraction is really fantastic, have only had a little play so far but seems very effective and fairly solidly built, but not too heavy to move.
Would be nice to have a bed that changed angle but that’s a far more expensive spec and I can always make a jig to provide that functionality but as previously commented it’s more solid set at 90 degrees
Overall very good value especially on factory reduced price of £130
